Once home to the powerful Earls and Dukes of Norfolk, it was here that Mary Tudor was declared queen in 1553. The castle’s curtain wall walk offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, while its interactive exhibitions bring history vividly to life.

Lavenham

Often referred to as England’s best-preserved medieval village, and once thought to be the 14th richest village in England due to its one-time wool trade, Lavenham is a treasure trove of timber-framed buildings, cobbled streets, and centuries-old charm. Famous for its historic Guildhall and colourful crooked houses, the village was also used during the filming of Harry Potter, The Deathly Hallows Part 1 (2010). Southwold & Walberswick
